- Responsible for the overall management of Effect Hope’s Planned Giving program. This involved:
- Managing 75 open estate files. There were 48 open estates files when I assumed this role
- Ensuring that all estate administration data is recorded accurately and, in a timely manner, in Raiser’s Edge, designated spreadsheets and hardcopy files
- Communicating with lawyers, financial planners, and estate trustees to ensure timely and accurate processing of their requests such as the completion of releases and other estate documentation
- Following up with solicitors and estate trustees to establish the status of the distribution process
- Reporting to the CEO on the estate portfolio including the administration status of each estate and projected timelines for completion
- Maintaining all estate files to audit standards
- Balancing monthly bequest revenue with general ledger
- Identifying Planned Giving prospects by overseeing marketing campaigns designed to encourage donors to consider including Effect Hope in their Wills
- Stewarding 50 - 55 Planned Giving prospects with a goal of securing a bequest in their Wills
- Managing 144 donors who have committed to including Effect Hope in their Wills
- Responding quickly and accurately to Planned Giving queries from donors, lawyers, estate trustees and financial planners

- Starting in 2010, I ran a marathon each year to raise money for a specific project that our organization was funding. In that time, this initiative raised over $140,000.

- The Leprosy Mission Canada wanted to test the effectiveness of the donor centred approach championed by Penelope Burke. This study selected 1,000 of our donors and separated them into test and control groups. The control group received the donor treatment that the organization was using at the time, and I worked with the test group providing a more donor centred approach which involved:
- Making thank you calls within 24 hours of receiving a donation
- Ensuring that thank you letters and receipts were mailed within 48 hours
- Regularly mailing specialized newsletters which contained reports on how the donors’ gifts were changing lives
- After 4 weeks of receiving their gift, the donor was sent a proposal for a specific project
