Work History

From basic questions to the more complex, I have helped employees understand the intricacies of their pay issues and have helped resolve them.
  • I perform various system entries in both Phoenix and PeopleSoft and CMT including, but not limited to LWOP, OT, Benefits, Unions, Paid Leave, Terminations, Tax Distribution Updates.
  • I have helped management with various side projects including taking on the folder of Mandatory Leave Liquidation since its implementation by TBS in 2021.

Project Officer, Human Resources Workplace

Shared Services Canada
11.2018 - 11.2019
  • I worked as a project officer in the Employment Equity and Diversity Team where I coordinated meetings with the team and its external stakeholders (advisory committees, and networks) as well as participated in the planning of events and learning sessions for other departments.
  • I helped provide managers at SSC and other GVT organizations with information on employment equity for 4 groups: Women, Visible Minorities, Indigenous Peoples and Persons with Disabilities. We held quarterly meetings with each advisory committees for the mentioned groups and we also held information/learning sessions for external organizations as well as other Gvt organizations to help promote the hiring of people within those four groups.
  • I helped provide ways to run processes for specific under-represented groups as well as how to justify the hiring of specific people based on the requirements the Government of Canada has implemented.

Executive Assistant to Director Marketed Health Products

Health Canada
01.2018 - 11.2018
  • I have worked as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Marketed Health Products Safety and Effectiveness Bureau from January 2018 to November 2018.
  • During my time at Health Canada, I managed two employees I was tasked with screening emails and answering some of them as well as answering telephone calls for my director on a daily basis. I was also tasked with organizing her daily calendar as well as coordinating travel plans for employees in the bureau. I collated and put together documents for review for both my Director and the DG. I needed to observe the utmost discretion. I organized meetings and coordinated between the Director and managers as well as with other people from different bureaux and directorates.
  • I also was in charge of taking minutes during upper management meetings as well as all-staff meetings.
  • I also oversaw the purchase of office supplies.

Canadian Forces Pension Services Advisor

Department of National Defence, DCFPS
11.2008 - 01.2014
  • I began in the Pension Buyback Call Center answering questions from Canadian Forces Army Reserve members wanting to buy back their previous years of service. During my time in the call center, I implemented a training manual for new Call Center Agents that was still being used upon my departure from DND on LWOP in January 2014.
  • After about a year in the Call Center, I moved on to the Correspondence Team which dealt with incoming and outgoing correspondence from members doing their buybacks. I made sure documents were filled out correctly and was in daily contact with certain members via telephone and/or email. During my time with the correspondence team, I translated letters to be sent to members from English to French, many of which were still used in January 2014. I also trained new employees as well as did a few acting terms. By the end of my stay with the correspondence team I was dealing with Revocations in which certain members wanted to revoke their pension buyback. I had to study the files from beginning to end and know the legislation inside out as a revocation of pension buyback does not happen easily. I was in daily contact with members regarding their revocation and saw many files from beginning to end with good results. I was also rained on issuing refunds via cheques.
