  • Created the Fund’s Disaster Preparedness Initiative in 2007, which awarded $6 million to prepare vulnerable communities to respond to earthquakes, climate disaster or other catastrophes
  • Co-chaired Northern California Grantmaker’s Disaster Preparedness Initiative, a committee of foundations committed to engaging philanthropy in disaster readiness
  • Led the Fund’s largest one-time grant of $900,000 to support Resilient Bayview, a community-designed and led resilience effort in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood, that prepares residents for a range of stressors at the intersection of race and climate justice

Jewish Life

  • Grew grantmaking portfolio from 23 to 53 grants, awarding a total of $65 million
  • Developed funding guidelines with a nationally recognized focus on deepening interfaith cooperation, combatting polarization, and advancing social justice
  • Co-created two groundbreaking national funding pools focused on racial justice and interfaith support: one supporting Jews of Color and one advancing Muslim communities, and represented the Fund on these grantmaking committees
