Additional Information

Hello, My name is Steph Hails, I'm a 66 year lod transgendered women (Post Op) who has retired after a 50 year career in the auto manufacturing industry,

I Came out in 2008 whilst still working in an "Old Boys Club" in what was considered to be an all male trade, I managed to continue working under these conditions in fact I found myself upholding my esteem and pride, finding myself the courage to challenge myself and move forward into a PM co-lead position over the tooling and Maintenance departments,

It was whilst working in this job position that I got the chance to attend conferences and courses under the union "Unifor" to attend training courses in "the politics of pride" they offered, these courses were based on the history of LGBTQ2 people in Canada and the tools that are in the canadian systems to help them live normal life's such as the adding of LGBTQ2 persons to the human rights code within the Stellantis/GM/Ford companies.

During my time working in Stellantis I was privileged to be able to serve the union membership (Stellantis Employee of ECP) helping members with LGBTQ2 issues either for themselves of family members with information, direction and just as a person that they could talk with knowing that they wouldn't be outed in the plant.

I think if selected to the JEDI committee of Brighton I would be someone who would be involved whole hearted and would bring a lot of experience to the table, bt no means am I a professional or expert on every subject by I do have a willingness to learn to better not only myself but all who would benefit form the committee's work.
