Providing cultural advisory and language translation services for the multimedia and broadcasting industry, current projects include:

a) voiceover work from English Audio to Cree Audio recording translations for production "Little big Community" series on APTN with production company KASKO in Montreal;

b)Translation and transcription from Cree audio to English written using multimedia tools & exchange platforms; with Coexistence Films, Toronto based production company, working on documentary about Cree-led research in Waskaganish.

  • Overseeing the initiative to collaborate and consult with department staff, and other key staff about the 10-year clause of the JBNQA and the signed Complementary Agreement 29.
  • To advise, assess, analyse and prepare data-driven report to be presented, as part of the strategic planning for the delivery mechanism, identify the risks & mitigating recommendations - with the collaboration of legal counsel and external Cree entities.

  • Oversight of municipal operations and services, within an ISO certified organization, implemented and monitored the quality management system by leading the quality managment committee to ensured the continued ISO certification of the Cree Nation of Wemindji at each cycle of ISO audit, and uphold the organizations committment to quality services to the community and customers of the CNW.
  • Worked closely with elected Chief and Council to implement strategic plans, oversee budgets, and deliver quality programs and services: from child & youth to elders – at height of pandemic conditions.
  • Ensuring the collaboration with local and regional entities to deliver: accurate information in timely fashion, and ensure taht essential items and resources are available, and facilitating the coordination of vaccination and protocols roll-out by sharing inter-organization infrastructure and equipment.
  • Stopped convoy of tractor trailers hauling unverified fuel containers seeking to access and traverse the community to access the marina and port – without prior approval or notice; to advocate for the safety and security of the people of Wemindji, the convey were asked to turn around, and wait pending proper authorization.
  • Opened and establish communication links with Inuit community official of Inujuak, and transport company officials, including liaison with CNG Capital Works, to gather info about the project and jurisdiction, to accuate info to our Chief and Councils; resulted in the development of port authority bylaws and revenue generation initiave for community, CNW transferred to Tawich for development– only kind in Eeyou Istchee.
  • Adapted 4-day work-week to ensure self-care of employees of the CNW, during pandemic period; resulted in noted reduction in absenteeism on Monday mornings and increase in productivity (ex: quantified by completion rates of sanitation dept, water/waste, maintenance calls, and noted reduction in complaints – despite increase in Client Satisfaction Survey provided at community locations & events).
  • First ever broadcasting a staff meeting, to 150 people, who are in-person at 3 sites (not on laptops) due to capacity limits of venues during covid protocol; quality assurance protocols allowed us to maintain operational reporting schedule – while ensuring that covid measures were respected. This allowed our CNW team to organize and carry out our local Annual General Assemblies as planned, while following all regulations. First ZOOM CNW AGA casted to local members – coordinated through CNW using internal resources only.

  • Oversight of ~120 staff, including managers, health and medical professionals, social and homecare services support teams, maintenance and custodial staff, and drivers, across 2 facilities, to ensure delivery of services to community of ~1500.
  • Managed the coordination and delivery of, and access to, essential health and social services, including 24/7 urgent medical care & transportation services in Wemindji, QC.; securing new equipment & resources, and necessary repairs facility.
  • During winter power and communication outtage, secured satellite communications via public relations with members with private satellite networks - identifiable on their rooftops (Xplornet) and ensured the safe medivac of patient to Chisasibi via road-ambulance.
  • Led team in collaborative emergency preparedness table-top exercises to review existing manuals and guidelines, and coordinated with the local fire department and public safety to align evacuation plans and priority lists/codes.
  • Supported implementation of culturally safe care, pilot projects such as MSDC Meals-on-Wheels, and accompanied homecare workers on client home visits to assess quality of care for elderly and special needs clients, monthly.
