Petaluma

Summary

Having worked as a Registered Nurse for the past 19 years, I've served in both the inpatient hospital setting and most recently the ambulatory outpatient clinic. My current position as the SUBSPEC RN in Petaluma has allowed me to develop into a leader on my unit, serving as a resource for my colleagues. I sat on the Code Blue Committee representing the ambulatory clinic which allowed me to develop a nurse stat training course for my colleagues. During this time I precepted a senior nursing student, led nurse stats, and facilitated member's timely transfers to the Emergency Department. As a nurse leader I also have created job aids and work flows for my department and assisted with updating departmental policies. As the SUBPSEC RN, I serve as the Urology nurse, the Head and Neck Surgery nurse, the Dermatology nurse and the General Surgery nurse. Prior to my time in the clinic I worked on the surgical unit of the hospital. During that time I sat on and led numerous committees, including the Professional Performance Committee, the Nursing Quality Forum, the Adult Domain Committee, the Nurse Practice Committee, the Code Blue Committee and Co-Chaired our 5th Floor Unit Council. As a member of these committees, I collaborated with members of our multidisciplinary team to create teaching materials for nurses, planned and taught Mock Code blue training classes, oriented new hire nurses, precepted senior nursing students, participated in quality improvement programs, and I collaborate effectively with my management team. I am a highly respected nurse among my peers and the physicians I work with. I am often called upon to assist with complex cases by the providers I work with.
