A stay at home parent is one of the hardest jobs you will ever have and the skills you gain are incredibly transferrable. Some of these skills include: multi-tasking, communication, persuading, listening, research, organization, managing people, collaboration, and the ultimate mom skill – negotiation. I have had to adapt regular parenting tasks such as: organizing schedules, managing a household, managing finances, volunteering for our school as a PTA member and pizza lunch monitor, volunteering for my church, involvement in my community, etc., to include many more tasks specific to a parent of an Autistic/ADHD child.
