As the student lead for the "Climate Resilient Nursing: Building Student Capacity in Healthcare Settings" project, I helped to develop and implement a climate-focused initiative funded by the Wawanesa Climate Champions: Youth Innovation Grant. With the $30,000 grant, I collaborated with Red River College Polytechnic a Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery partner to educate future nurses on sustainable healthcare practices and promote sustainability and climate education in the nursing curriculum. The project included an educational workshop titled "Climate-Resilient Nursing" and the development of the "Planetary Health Library Guide" to increase nursing students' ability to take climate action in healthcare settings. Participants completed the SANS_2 survey before and after the workshop to gather quantitative data to assess the impacts. Focus group discussions were held to gather qualitative data on the knowledge gained, changes in attitudes, and how sustainability concepts could be applied in their future professional roles.
