government certified course that is designed for those who are employed or seeking employment as restaurant staff, catering, vendors or anyone handling food. The FoodSafe covers procedures for preventing food borne illnesses. Topics include: receiving, storing, preparing and serving of potentially hazardous foods, hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing equipment. The course also contains a section on Workplace Safety.
Upon successful completion, participants will be registered with Fraser Health Authority and receive a FoodSafe Certificate recognized by the BC Hotel and Restaurant Association.
Building Service Workers (BSW) Standard Program (February - April 2004) Fraser Valley Continuing Education
Trained custodians are always in demand! Upon completing this BSW Certificate course you will be qualified to seek employment as a building services worker in a wide variety of industries and businesses, including positions as school, hospital and government building custodians. You will be also ready to start your own contract cleaning business,and be in a position to land claiming contracts as many custodial positions change to 'private contract' jobs. This course consists of a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience to train you in areas of cleaning chemicals, equipment, floor and carpet care, public relations, safety, and business knowledge needed to calculate job requirements, and to complete successful quotes for cleaning jobs, if required.
