I am a dedicated and motivated individual with a strong ability to lead, work collaboratively, and solve problems. Through my involvement in various roles, from being a lifeguard in training to taking on leadership positions in sports and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, I have developed strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. I am passionate about making a positive impact, whether it's helping others succeed or contributing to my community.
I have had the opportunity to connect with individuals and learn about their lives. One of the most significant challenges was understanding the needs of individuals with disabilities. However, with patience and empathy, I was able to build meaningful relationships and have fun during activities. Volunteering has taught me the importance of compassion, understanding, and acceptance.
Cared for children of various ages and assisted with feeding, dressing and daily activities.
Maintaining a positive attitude while being patient and understanding with the children.
Responsibly watched children while parents were out.
I organized and led fundraising efforts for Girls for the Cure, a 14-kilometer walk supporting women’s cancer research. Developed strategies to engage students, including a bake sale and online fundraising, helping raise over $74,000 school-wide. Coordinated event logistics, promoted participation through presentations, and ensured a smooth experience for 142 student participants. I learned how to strengthen leadership, communication, and organizational skills while contributing to a meaningful cause.
I reffed volleyball games for the younger grades at my school. I learned how to communicate with other refs and build my skills on the game of volleyball, coordinated with scorekeepers to verify and update scores and fouls accurately.
Donation management
In addition to running the walk for Girls for the Cure, I also came up with idea to host a bake sale at school a day before the walk to get more donations and get people excited Each of the school heads brought in donuts and timbits from Tim Hortons in order to sell them during school lunch, all proceeds went towards our fundraising page
