Detail-oriented and motivated Biotechnology graduate seeking a part-time Sunday position at a library. Brings a strong background in academic, laboratory, and retail environments, along with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Currently focused on learning French and exploring new job experiences. Committed to fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for library patrons.
To Whom It May Concern
I am writing to express my interest in the part-time Sunday position at your library. As a Biotechnology graduate from Seneca College (2024) and an incoming student at York University, I bring a unique combination of academic discipline, customer service experience, and a strong passion for books and community service.
Currently, I am taking a gap period before starting my studies at York to focus on learning French and exploring new job experiences. This time has allowed me to further develop my communication skills, cultural awareness, and adaptability-qualities I believe are essential in a library setting. Throughout my academic journey, I developed excellent organizational and time management skills while working as a laboratory assistant. These experiences have taught me the importance of maintaining an orderly environment, attention to detail, and the ability to support others in achieving their goals.
In addition to my academic and laboratory background, I have worked in various customer-facing roles, including positions at Bath & Body Works, , and convenience stores. These roles have honed my interpersonal skills and taught me the value of patience, professionalism, and empathy when engaging with the public. As someone who enjoys reading, writing, and learning new languages, I am genuinely enthusiastic about working in an environment that promotes knowledge and lifelong learning. I take pride in keeping things organized and enjoy assisting others in discovering resources that can support their personal growth.
I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your team and support the library's mission to serve the community. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can be of service.
Sincerely
Simranjit Kaur
