Siah McTavish

A young aspiring curator-writer-artist skilled in Art History based research that interweaves canonical concepts with contemporary post-colonial ideas from a Queer-Métis perspective. Ambitious and motivated to gain experience working within arts cultural spaces' and their facets of research, writing, management, and curation.

• Certificate in Public History to be completed during YorkU's Winter 2025 term with 120 hours of work and a final project at a museum, archive, gallery or historical organization across the Greater Toronto Area.

Acted as head curator and an artist for multi-media group exhibition titled "Are We There Yet?"

• Curatorial conceptualization from writing the exhibition proposal, creating a floor plan, writing an overview, hosting a reception, and giving one group tour to a fellow art history class.
• Creating a site-specific textile installation to drape from the ceiling.
• Installation and de-installation of the exhibition (including painting walls, adjusting lighting, etc.).
