  • As a part of my Placement, I had the opportunity to work at Hamilton Urban Core Community Center.


  • During my placement at Hamilton Urban Core, I gained valuable insights into engaging with diverse urban communities and understanding their needs. I learned about social services for individuals facing homelessness, poverty, addiction, and mental health issues. This deepened my understanding of case management techniques, including assessment and advocacy, to ensure clients received the necessary support. I also explored harm reduction strategies to respect autonomy while addressing substance use. Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention equipped me to provide empathetic support. Collaborating with community partners and advocacy efforts enhanced my networking skills and allowed me to address systemic issues for marginalized communities. Mohawk College-2024.
  • As a part of my Health, Wellness, and Fitness program, I had my placement with autistic students every week and designed workouts for specially-abled teens and used to train them based on customized them based on their physical and mental needs.
