  • Operate my own sole proprietorship consulting business continuously maintaining daily operations of a small business providing personalized services since 2008.
  • Manage organizational and project budgets and financials sand handle financial transactions, including invoicing and expense tracking.
  • Pivoted to an online service in 2020-2022.
  • Build and maintain strong and meaningful relationships with each Indigenous community or Nation I have had the privilege and honor of working with across the Pacific Northwest, as well as non-Indigenous organizations, communities, and governments.

Grant & Proposal Writing and Acquisition

  • Determine grant/contract submission priorities by aligning a community’s or organization’s mission, strategic plan, objectives and needs to national, provincial, and local funding opportunities and requirements
  • Negotiate funding of local, provincial and federal grants and proposals, resulting since 2008 with a 77 percent success rate over all to date
  • Research, plan, write, edit, format and submit grant, proposals, plans and research documents for both not-for and for-profit organizations, academic colleagues and communities independently and collaboratively (2008 to present)
  • Facilitate community, university credit courses and one-to-one grant writing workshops.
  • Provide oversight and compliance with Tl’esqox (Toosey Indian Band) from 2016-present in a team-based approach to collaboratively write, secure and negotiated grants and funding from 2016-2020 with Tl’esqox (Toosey Indian Band); maintained a 90 percent success rate of application submitted securing approximately $3 million in funding.
  • Monitored the primary grant/contract implementers throughout the implementation and reporting process; included: managing the grant/contract timelines, ensuring the financial status and reviewing, revising and submitting timely reports by maintaining project databases and records to ensure compliance.
  • Provide advice and guidance on unanticipated grant implementation challenges in order to mitigate risk and ensure continued compliance.
  • Prepare and present grant/contract award and media announcements, written and oral reports and project progress for a variety of audiences both internal and external.
