CASUAL/On Call position

• Prepare, organize and conduct individual/group therapeutic activities with assigned patients under direction of Registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
• Participate in program-wide Holland Campus- Post Operative Hip/Knee Shoulder Arthroplasty Rehab procedures mainly focusing on post-operative hip/knee and shoulder surgical procedures for over 10 patients in the post-operative Day 1 and Day 2 surgical programs
• Directly supervise OTA/PTA students as delegated by Registered OT/PT and clinical manager
• Participate regularly in inter-professional care team and supervisors' daily huddles for patient care and their prognosis
• Complete clinical documentation and daily workload measurement on CarePathways along with EMR
• Monitor and maintain inventory of therapeutic supplies, assessment and resource forms, and kitchen supplies
• Conduct work in a safe manner; prevention, identification and reporting of safety issues and problems; taking corrective action, where possible; attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the hospital's standards

• 60-bed transitional care unit regulated by Michael Garron Hospital named as Kew Beach Transitional Care Unit
• Assisting PT/OT for various treatment procedures such as positioning, passive stretching, lifts and bed transfers for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, pressure ulcers and lymphatic diseases
• Conducting variety of rehab protocols independently for neurological and cardiopulmonary disorders designed by Registered therapists
• Co ordination with Allied Health Team, Nurses and Transition Navigators regarding patient updates, discharges and disposition planning as required
• Assisting PT/OT for monthly inventory, physiotherapy equipment checklist and attending weekly huddles with inter-professional team members at Kew Beach Transitional Care Unit (Teams: 1st and 3rd floors)

• Assisting OT/PT for conducting neurological treatments such as positioning, passive stretching, lifts and bed transfers for over 15 patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, pressure ulcers and lymphatic diseases on a daily basis
• Conducting independent one-to-one group/private exercise session for 20-25 patients suffering from osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, hip/knee joint injuries and other musculoskeletal injuries
• Carrying out mechanical lifts and transfers for patients with neurological deficits with other staff members on a daily basis
• Independent application and demonstration of treatment procedures in orthopedic and surgical cases as per delegation and communicating daily prognosis
• Documentation of SOAP notes using Procura Software (EMR)

• Community/Home Health for Bundled Hip/, Independent handling over 9 clients per day with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders for hip/knee bundled community care program referred from SHN, and Unity Health
• Implementing exercise protocols and interventions independently as per PT's plan of care
• Documentation of SOAP notes under Procura Clinical Software via electronic method
• Delivering group exercise classes and mobility aid training to all client of all ages and ethnicity especially geriatric population
• Attending monthly meetings and clinical discussions with PT's, clinical managers and clinical leads

• Independent handling and application of electro-therapeutic modalities such as shockwave therapy, ultrasound, TENS, paraffin wax bath and interferential current therapy for individuals with varied sports and musculoskeletal injuries
• Conducting laser measurements for respective joint regions and providing interventions as per Chiropractor's delegation
• Independent demonstration of exercises, stretching and posture corrective advice to patients as per regular posture control protocol
• Documentation of SOAP notes using EMR such as universal software
• Independently created exercise sheets using PhysioTools software and reviewed the sheets following therapists care plans on a daily basis

• Independent handling and application of electro-therapeutic modalities like NMES, PWB, EMS, Traction, Ultrasound, TENS and IFC for individuals with OHIP, WSIB and MVA insurances
• Conducting exercise programs and posture corrective exercises for over 20-25 clients primarily lead by Physiotherapists
• Conducting assessments with the help of outcome measures required for clients with spine, upper and lower extremity injuries
