Research Experience

  • Investigated binding interactions between C1B receptors and CRIP1a protein to optimize neurotransmitter release between axons.
  • Transformed competent cells to express protein and used fluorescence analysis to visualize binding between WT and mutant strains.
  • Mutant strains had single or double AA mutations to disrupt pi-pi bonds within the active site to see the overall effect on active site hydrogen-bond network stabilization.
  • Used MD simulations to visualize binding between proteins and examine binding sites/affinities.
