• Review and process FAP application, drawing and other documentation to understand the scope of work and identify if additional information is needed, while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and maintaining a professional image of the GTAA.
• Respond promptly to general inquiries received via phone or email in the FAP Office.

Here’s a summary of the responsibilities:

• Review and approve traffic management plans in line with Ontario Traffic Manual- Book 7.
• Contact ROP permit applicants to confirm work schedules and arrange onsite meetings to review work scope and methods.
• Collaborate with elected representatives, neighborhood groups, local businesses, and the public to address issues caused by construction projects, events, and filming.
• Instruct permit applicants on interim maintenance required to ensure public safety in work areas.
• Maintain accurate records, including photos, of work in progress and completion for record retention.
• Inspect City assets and report un-permitted utility cuts for follow-up and enforcement of permit requirements.
• Review and approve all utility cut permit applications.

• Supervise and coordinate multiple civil and electrical projects.
• Review and estimate upcoming projects, ensuring material requisitions and design align with client specifications.
• Monitor and analyze project budgets to ensure cost balance.
• Maintain communication with foremen, supervisors, and project managers to ensure work measurements and photos are accurate.
• Visit project sites to take precise measurements and ensure billing accuracy.
• Prepare and submit invoices (UPCMS), change orders, and supporting documentation to Toronto Hydro and third-party auditors.
• Resolve public complaints and claims related to the projects.
• Handle various administrative tasks such as scanning, photocopying, and managing information in spreadsheets and databases.

• Monitor construction processes to optimize financial outcomes and minimize risks.
• Assist civil engineers on key government projects, focusing on roadway designs, traffic solutions, and bridge rehabilitation.
• Identify and report non-conformances in construction work.
• Supervise project employees, including in-house staff, external contractors, and subcontractors.
• Provide quality training for project staff and subcontractors to ensure high-quality standards, including developing training content.
• Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure they meet contract specifications.
• Handle key construction components such as asphalt & concrete paving, structural work, electrical work, grading, and highway construction.
• Perform material sampling on-site (e.g., asphalt, concrete, granular), facilitate testing, analyze results, and conduct trend analysis.
• Manage all QC-related correspondence and distribute information to internal and external stakeholders

• Complete daily inspection reports with 100% accuracy, detailing project activities.
• Conduct soil compaction testing and collect material samples for laboratory analysis.
• Perform subgrade inspections and field concrete testing according to CCIL/OPSS standards.
• Accurately log sampled materials and inform supervisors of any issues with paperwork or samples.
• Demold and weigh cured concrete molds for future testing.
• Schedule and provide professional training to junior technicians.
• Carry out various tests, including concrete testing, coring, bond plates testing, reinforcing steel inspection, nuclear density compaction testing on soils, asphalt, footing inspection, and earthworks monitoring.
