Work History

Senior H&S Advisor

Veren
12.2014 - Current
  • Duties included field site visits to ensure the best practical standards and procedures are being followed, implementation of new codes practice as requested from the field or organization, coordination of safety equipment and services for the field and offices, quarterly reports for the groups to ensure all field requests and concerns have been addressed and corrected, investigation involving incidents, near misses and hazard id’s submitted from the field, review of contractors safety programs to ensure all hired personnel are creating and with holding a strong safety culture
  • I am also held accountable to ensure the proper plans for Emergency Response are in place and one of the ways I accomplish this is through ERP drills
  • This job is where I learned the true understanding of all the different values and traits people carry
  • Working with many men and women in the field to create a safety culture and ensure that all are recognizing the importance of safety is a very patient and learning job, it took many leadership sessions to start to make a difference and feel I have made a large advancement with the company and the boots on the ground involved
  • Having spent many years in the field has helped me relate to the field workers attitudes towards safety and has helped assist with ideas to apply proper correctives after an incident and more importantly helping the field workers recognize situations prior to an incident occurring
  • Promoted to the role of a Senior Safety Advisor in 2024

Tong Hand/Casing Inspection

Lingenfelter Ventures (dD Contracting)
07.2010 - 12.2014
  • Opportunity arose in 2010 for myself to purchase my own power tong truck and sign on as a sub-contractor
  • This was the first time I had become my own boss
  • Duties for this job are to run casing into the wells once they are drilled on the drilling rig along with running a frac string to do horizontal frac’s on the completion stage of the well
  • I collaborated with crews for these tasks and must be able to explain how we are going to perform the job safely and give all other instructions for the job
  • Inspection and pre job asset integrity of the casing was an essential part of the job on top of the actual running of the casing

Driller/Derrickhand/Roughneck

Diamond Energy Services
07.2003 - 07.2010
  • I started the service rigs as a roughneck and worked my way up into driller position
  • I did completions and work overs on shallow gas, shallow oil, heavy oil with high H2S, injection and C02 wells
  • This is where I really gained a lot of knowledge of the production side and all the down hole information
  • Every job was different, but the basic work practice was the same
  • As a driller I had to make sure my crew understood the hazards and knew what the next step was always going to be
  • Every morning discuss and document all the hazards and what the steps would be to deal with anything that came along out of the ordinary or if someone were to get hurt
  • The responsibility of driller is a lot to take in, you are always watching your guys to make sure safe practice is being used and the job is being done right and at the same time doing your task at hand
  • I never had a problem with this position and was accident free the whole time I was employed at this company

Leasehand/Roughneck/Motorhand

Trailblazer Drilling Corp.
06.2002 - 07.2003
  • My duties on this drilling rig were to keep the equipment maintained with regular service jobs to all motors on the rig also regular checks on all equipment for wear and tear and defects
  • I was also in charge of making sure the two guys below me in rank did their jobs safe and efficient and to make sure I was there to help with any problems they encountered or answer all questions or concerns they might have
  • Working these long hours and days I got a chance to see how stressful things can get when problems on the rig occur or even problems with people so learned very well how to deal with that to keep everyone and everything in a straight order without conflict
