OBGYN Clinical Clerkship 

• Rotated with Dr. Ramon Flores, specialist with over 30+ years of experience.
• Served a predominantly a Spanish-speaking community in low-income areas.
• Assisted with basic procedures in the clinic such as Urine Dipstick & Urine Pregnancy Tests.
• Observed Pap-Smears and Breast Examinations, as well routine pregnancy ultrasound with trained ultrasonographer.
• Student responsibility also included patient counseling and education in regards to: safe sex practices and appropriate contraceptives available, fertility counseling, abortion education, and appropriate age-relate screening recommendations.
• Was appointed the role of Student Lead - Responsible for organizing and scheduling daily zoom lectures, assigning topics for student presentations and coordinating Doctor - Student interactions and communication.

Internal Medicine Clinical Clerkship

• Rotated with Dr. Krishdeep Khosla, internist with over 20+ years of experience.
• Assisted the physician with patients of all ages - responsible for completing patient SOAP Notes, collecting vitals, performing history & physical exams, and formulating a comprehensive care plan for every patient.
• Appointed the role of Student Lead - Responsible for organizing weekly student outpatient & inpatient schedule and coordinating student clinical exposure. Coordinated patient schedule with office administrator.

Psychiatry Clinical Clerkship

• Shadowed Dr. Teresa Poprawski, renowned Psychiatrist with over 20+ years of experience.
• Assisted in obtaining thorough psychiatric history, predominantly in outpatient settings.
• Ability to discern between a range of psychiatric conditions from anxiety, depression, panic disorders, mood disorders, schizophrenia in both the juvenile and adult populations.
• Assisted in the formulation of plans specific to each unique case, such that determining the perfect antidepressant or managing drug-drug interactions etc.

Family Medicine Clinical Clerkship 

• Rotated with Dr. Michael Jutovsky, practicing physician for over 20 years.
• Gained a thorough experience in patient note taking with an emphasis on proper structure, flow and relevant information.
• Student responsibilities included: Full H&P, Daily 5-10 SOAP Notes, and 4x/week zoom lectures and presentations.

General Surgery Clinical Clerkship

• Rotated with famous Chicago and Award Winning Surgeon, Dr. Frederick Tiesenga.
• Primary focus was outpatient patient care, focusing on patient preparation for bariatric procedures. Including providing patient counseling on the perfect procedure for them (i.e. gastric bypass or gastric sleeve) as well as the recommended diet necessary to maintain 3 weeks prior to their surgical procedures.
• Emphasis and care was also on educating patients on the importance of healthy eating and weight loss in general. Responsible for providing patients texts with up-to-date information on risks of obesity as well comorbid conditions (e.g. Diabetes Mellitus, Hypercholesterolemia, Atherosclerotic Heart Disease, Stroke).

• COVID-19 rt-PCR sample collector, for the purpose of contact tracing and spread prevention.
• Volunteered with 2 labs in the Greater Chicago Area from October 2021 - July 2022, Elite Labs & Diagnostics as well as MedStar Labs.
• Volunteered at the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago in Lemont, IL during the summer of 2021. Provided basic health-checkups for the community by conducting blood pressure checks, weight check and provided dietary tips for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol management. Also helped highlight the significance of medication compliance.
