• Administered influenza and Covid vaccinations during influenza season for 3 Save-On Food locations. Set up flu clinics, gave injections, monitored clients for any post injection reactions and teaching re side effects.
• After flu season was over, I worked for the same 3 pharmacies in the Home Dispense Program. This involved driving to a group of clients at their homes and/or retirement facility to witness them taking their medications, blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring on some patients. Made a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determined whether improvement or resolution can be determined by an appropriate nursing intervention.
• Provides nursing care to address critical care needs of patients according to physicians' and anesthetists' orders, and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies. Initiates immediate treatment if required; modifies care as needs change.
• Communicated and shared information with interdisciplinary health care team members; collaborated with members of the interprofessional care team including Physicians, Patient Care Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educators, and other health care professionals / providers in the identification and resolution of issues, adjustments to care plans as required, and in regard to changes in patient condition.
• Reviewed post-operative orders and continuously monitored patients' post-operative vitals, set up PCA's, Epidurals and fluids and oriented patients to unit.
• Administered medications via oral, IV and subcutaneous injections and monitored responses.
• When patient meets discharge criteria, correspond with discharge unit to give a report on patient and accompany or send patient to appropriate unit.
