Relationship Management

• Maintained relationships with housing departments and representatives in the region.
• Prepares and maintains a list of contacts for each housing department, housing provider, and community stakeholders in the region.
• Tracks and documents all contacts, funding partners, and discussions, providing a monthly report to the leadership of FNHIC.

Administrative & Networking

• Coordinates meetings, events, and gatherings of representatives from various categories including First Nations, Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Housing Providers, Municipalities, Federal and Provincial Ministries, and service organizations with a housing mandate.
• Participates in various planning-related initiatives in the region such as advisory groups, steering committees, projects, research, and communications.
• Provides FNHIC with regional feedback and updates.

Housing Needs Identification

• Identifies current and future needs within the region.
• Serves as an advisor on the housing options for First Nations in the region.
• Disseminates information to key stakeholders on housing status within the region.

Training & Research

• Creates and helps develop 8 modules for First Nations Housing Managers, to be facilitated in fall 2024.
• Worked with KWI over 6 months to develop a Housing Asset Management Workshop (one day) and is working on recreating the projects and course outline into a three-day workshop.
• Worked with Thompson Rivers University to facilitate a one-day training for Community Planning and integrated it into their 6-week Trade Sampler Program.

• Improved tenant satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and implementing effective solutions.
• Trained new staff members on policies and procedures, ensuring consistency in service delivery across the board.
• Negotiated contracts with vendors, securing favorable terms while maintaining quality service provision.
• Managed budget effectively, reducing operating costs without compromising the quality of services provided.
• Built 6 homes from the ground up to full occupancy.
• Completed 12 renovations focused on health and safety.
• Created a detailed maintenance plan annually and seasonally.
• Stayed informed about industry trends through ongoing professional development opportunities.
