Welcomed and trained new team members during first day orientation. I am very passionate about FDO. This is our chance to set the tone for our newest members. I love making them feel welcome and ensuring they know we care about customer first treatment. Being present, happy to see you attitudes, eye contact, never a problem to help, never saying I don’t know. Being clean and presentable.

Cashier training. I have enjoyed taking cashiers who are nervous and unsure to confident and happy to be part of our team. Helping train cashiers for a new store opening was especially energizing and enjoyable.

Price changes / relines- keeping the store signed, clean and organized is very satisfying. Ensuring departments get their signage in a timely manner. Customer interaction on the floor is always a great opportunity to let the customer know we care and appreciate them.

Health and safety- took our store through the core audit with flying colours. This taught me a lot about the importance of staff safety and getting sign offs and paperwork done correctly.

First aid. I am companionate and caring.

Union representative- I care about the company and our team members working together and resolving issues that work for both sides. Win win. Not us against them.

Ecomm dept. learning opportunity dealing with unhappy customers, attention to detail making sure customers got the exact product they were looking for with the best expiration date and freshest items.

Ran customer service desk

- ordered tobacco, lotto, candy and staff uniforms taught me about ordering of appropriate quantities As well as counting inventory.

- ensuring front end staff were well informed and offering the best customer service experience

- resolved conflicts with staff and customers

- replaced staff when sick calls came in

- ran the lotto counter/ customer service desk simultaneously

- ran the book dept and general merchandise at 928. Told by a rep that he had never seen the toy section look so good.

- cash office- floating tills and made sure the numbers balanced.
