  • Extensively researched current trends and examined data in education, particularly around the areas of Play-Based Learning, Early Childhood Development, Literacy, Vocabulary, and English as an Additional Language.
  • Trained as a trainer in the Making Content Comprehensible model to champion the inclusion of English Language Learners.
  • Participated in Alberta Professional Learning Consortium’s EAL, Literacy, and ELP Advisory committees.
  • Served on the Alberta Professional Learning Consortium Benchmark Committee to create the New Alberta K–12 English as an Additional Language Proficiency Benchmarks. Instrumental in changing it from the initial 10 point scale (plus emerging levels) to a 6 point scale (plus emerging levels).
  • Developed and maintained the District's Benchmark 2.0 template in Education Forms, by creating multiple levels with 4 strands in each level and accompanying criteria. Resulted in a marked improvement in the efficiency and accuracy of tracking district benchmark levels.
  • Served on ERLC’s benchmark committee to develop the new Oral Benchmark assessment for the Alberta K–12 English as an Additional Language Proficiency Benchmarks.
  • Monitored and supported schools in their efforts to complete Alberta Education’s required Benchmark documentation.
  • Acted as the district's ELP PUF coordinator, ensuring that children were properly coded, and all documentation was in place to secure funding.
