I have experience with crisis work and counseling with supporting those facing mental health obstacles, system navigation, gambling, harm reduction or supporting individuals who identify as part of the 2SLGBQT+ community. This experience has allowed me to build my ability in offering forms of psychotherapy and system navigation.
I have been able to learn the different protocols for COVID-19 while working through the pandemic. This includes learning various virtual platforms such as google suite, Microsoft 360. I have experience with facilitating and creating zoom meetings, teams on google, Webex, and other various platforms. I have used other apps of communication through my experience with Stella’s place as using an anonymous platform to offer brief counseling. I also have work-from-home experience which includes having skills with prompt responses to emails, meetings and documentation.
Through the work at Stella’s Place, I have the skills required to assess needs for the client and offer direction in the area they might need. With Stella’s Place, we are able to ensure the client has access to other programs that might be able to address their needs on a more long-term basis.
Lastly, my experience with being a women's health coordinator I have been able to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders, community members, clients and families to ensure the programs meets the needs of those we are serving and to execute program plans and reports to address those needs of clients. As well as being the coordinator for pilot projects within the community to address various needs such as supporting women living and at risk of HIV, health promotion, mental health support and ways to support individuals’ Social Determinants of Health.
