The Research project that I was part off, took place in my Public Policy class in Sacramento State University. The Project was comprised of group work and individual paper assignment. The group work of the project was classified as a debate argument between the Pro and Con side. The objective of each side was to elaborate on the goals and values of Student loan forgiveness program, mainly through elaborating on its empirical analysis and normative values. My job within the group work was to rebuttal the argument given by the pro side, where my main ambition was to counter the economic disadvantages of program on lower-middle income students. The way that I could encounter the pro side, was to look deep inside their resources in the form of research articles. Moreover, during the rebuttal section of the debate I was trying come with alternative solutions to the Plans attached with student loan forgiveness. Most of these plans are known as Income Repayment and SAVE Plan, where my goal was to promote options like Income Share Agreement, which provide an ease to students in paying off their loan payments through choosing a percentage of their income. In addition, I was also trying to prove that the program in general more favor higher income students, depending on their degree level and the amount of loan they borrow. Furthermore, I also address the insignificance of the program in terms of promoting upward mobility to minority students like African Americans. The way that I tackle this claim of the Pro side, is through attributing the condition of loan forgiveness on the basis of students attending less expensive educational institutions. Attributing such condition to student loan forgiveness create racial wealth gap, which prevent African Americans to be less likely getting their debt forgiven. Finally with regards to the SAVE and Income Repayment plan, my ambition was to represent these plans as insignificant in terms of their complexity and condition that can lead to students economic downturn. The complexity and condition attached to these plans are inclusion of students discretionary income like saving account, investment, and spending, which can not be applied to students that posses low paying jobs or those that are unemployed.

The Research Project that I was working with, took place in my English 20 class. The project had different phases, where my point of focus was on different issues related to public policy. The issue of my focus was related to policies like reduction of chronic homelessness, the role of education in enhancing the integration of immigrant children in host society, and the policy analysis of migration on aging population and social welfare system. To have an overall analysis and evaluation of each policy, I conducted different methods. For instance in my paper assignment for chronic homelessness, I executed an ethnographic interview with one of my family member. The purpose of this interview was to find out the experience and opinion of my father in terms of what needs to be done to reduce chronic homelessness. Although, before conducting this interview, I had looked into varies research articles included with literature reviews, data analysis, varies health, and housing programs. The questions that I made in the interview, was in correlation to the research question that I come across from varies articles, and from the structure and methods used in these articles. One of the reason that I conducted this interview with my dad, is because he usually visits the library, where he often come across with homeless individuals. Also, by profession he is a doctor which inspired me to ask him questions related to medical treatment of homeless people in hospitals. With regards to the other two policies dealing with role of education and migration, my motive and purpose of writing a paper on these issues was to spread awareness to the audience on how to generate an effective research proposal. Besides that the reason behind writing such a paper was to convince the audience that my position is accurate and exact. The methods that I use to research these policy proposals was mainly through analyzing qualitative, quantitative data analysis, observation, literature reviews, and opinion/recommendations.
