Serena Gomez

I am currently a Preschool Teacher working with children ages 2–5. I create a supportive and engaging learning environment. I plan and lead daily activities including circle time where I introduce letters, colors, numbers, animals, etc.

I focus on social-emotional development and help children learn to take turns, practice patience, use kind words, and show gentle behavior in the classroom.

I have completed 15 Early Childhood Education credits and I am currently attending community college to earn my Associate’s degree in ECE. I am passionate about working with young children and enjoy building genuine relationships with my students as they adjust to preschool, which can be a challenging transition.

Obtained CPR and First Aid certification to ensure safety in emergency situations.

Stratford Preschool utilizes a STEAM-based philosophy. I was a part of the 2 year old team. We had 18 children in our care with 4 teachers including myself. We had a daily schedule with the children that included music, science, Spanish and art class. We also had outdoor play where we encouraged gross motor skills using bikes and running. We would have daily morning activities to enhance their fine motor and cognitive skills. I was there for 4 months and enjoyed my time there.

I worked at the Child Development Center at Skyline College in San Bruno as a Preschool Teacher/Assistant. I worked with children 2-5 years old, including IEPS, autism and non verbal children.

Prior to my work at Skyline College, I have had 6+ years experience with young children as I have been a babysitter for family and friends since I was a preteen.

I currently am a student at Skyline as well and am pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have 12+ credits in ECE and am still enrolled and will continue to take classes as I work in Preschool.
