I am 15 (turning 16 next week) girl who is passionate about science and math in school. Outside of school I engage in sports, regional public speaking, and professional go-karting and race car driving. I started swimming when I was 4 and was able to receive a leadership role from my local swim club, this helped me understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration from a young age. I started public speaking when I was 7-8 to become a better speaker, however, after going to a few tournaments I was able to find love and motivation for speaking. Experiencing the importance of public speaking gave me an Idea to start a nonprofit organization to help other kids as well. Lastly, Go- Katrina and Racing was a sport doing done during the summer, I started 5 years ago and it has helped me stay concentrated and consistent. My dad inspired me to start and every since, starting I was able to improve, from using rentals, to getting recruited to one of the best teams in the Toronto area. Additionally, I want to acknowledge my in school passions, I am best at math and science, they are also the subjects I find more interesting. I found a love for science and math at a young age as I am a hands on learner and I love finding ways to solve a certain situation.
At Elite College, I am a teachers assistant for a public speaking class every Saturday. Me and my friends created this program as a nonprofit organization hoping to help students gain more confidence when speaking as this skill can benefit you for your whole life. This gave me an opportunity to help kids aged 8-11 get more confident by speaking and help the teacher whenever she needs me to do something. Some things I do include;
