Aurora Hackathon — Participant

In this event, my group and I were tasked with developing a solution for a problem proposed by the municipality of Aurora in the form of a mobile app. This event lasted for forty hours, all taking part in the Aurora library where the results were then judged afterward by the mayor of Aurora and others well-versed in the app development field. We also were given the opportunity to listen and speak to business owners that specialized in specific technologies and learn more about our future careers paths. I started a YouTube channel when I was in grade seven about my favorite game. While it started as a hobby, it quickly grew into something more than that. At a very young age, I was exposed to the basics of meeting standards and working towards new goals and ambitions. It created an environment where I was forced to step out of my comfort zone and develop skills involving taxes, how to manage my time and how to critically apply feedback.
