Accomplishments

Profitable Business:

Established value-proposition, value-based selling and achieved a 16% conversion rate on annual pipeline of $US70.0m [new business]. Introduction of principle of condition-based cleaning/PM with annual cost savings to customers on orders of 6%.

M&A: Lead of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team [internal & external] for 3 international transactions [2 Share Purchase Agreements and 1 Asset Purchase Agreement]. The first acquisition generated $1,7M in synergies in the first year alone.

Established and mentored a new management team within a global corporate enterprise. Through the consistent application of continuous process improvement driven by key statistics the company achieved a substantial increase in profitability and a cash positive balance sheet within an 18-month period.

Increased the “as sold” profitability of a multimillion-pound turn-key, high risk engineering contract three-fold. The contract was delivered over a period of 4 years, in a highly demanding automotive environment with full customer acceptance.

Strategic Planning

Led the initiative for the establishment of a revised Group Technology Strategy. This included a mapping of all segment and product and technology roadmaps, the establishment of clear business needs, the alignment of the technology strategy and the confirmation of core competences. The process was conducted in conjunction with business area and Group Technology directors.

Program Management:

Established, under mandate from the Board, through an innovative approach, the Global Technical Centres in Asia. This program included the delivery of all infrastructural, intrastructural and interstructural facets required for the establishment of the Indian and Chinese Technical Centres in line with the corporate strategic plan. The successful establishment and timely inauguration of each centre resulted in the proliferation of the approach, as a best practice, through the Group Project Management Office .


International Operations:

Establishment of new company in France including founding of company [SRL]. Secured a 5-year Master Services Agreement and 3 new contracts. Profitability achieved within 90 days.

Awarded Elite Supplier status by Lockheed Martin in 2021, a status achieved by 0.01% of all suppliers [14000]. First ever industrial services supplier.


Innovation Management

Developed a PPM (Project Portfolio Management) method including the definition of core attributes for the Corporate Innovation Portfolio managed by the CEO and Business Area Presidents. The method was replicated to a number of strategic, tactical and operational portfolios.

SKF representative at Cambridge University STIM (Strategic Technology Innovation Management) consortium. The first two years of full membership has resulted in the sponsoring and mentoring of 26 projects delivered by students from The Institute for Manufacturing at Cambridge University.

Enterprise Safety Platform.

Piloted the successful deployment of a total safety solution platform, creating design blueprint and Software Requirement Specification.
Configured the solution through a pilot deployment securing “hearts and minds” in an advanced user group.
Following a successful pilot I led the corporation wide deployment to 67 locations.

Safety Journey.

Through diligent application of safety practices, the overall Total Recordable Incident Rate went from 3.84 in 2019 to 1.46 in 2022.

This reduced corporate insurance premiums by more than $500K per year.

Collective Bargaining:

In October and November 2022, over 6 weeks, 7 days a week, successfully negotiated 12 Collective Bargaining Agreements [UNIFOR].

The agreements were ratified by 94%.

Secured the cost increases of circa $6.0M with our customer.

Good will established with the union is unprecedented.

Global Negotiation:

Led the vendor selection, from 114 eligible suppliers, and negotiations which resulted in the completion of a Master Services Agreement with 3 leading offshore engineering service providers, for the delivery of key services to the company and its global affiliates. The agreements included a Service Level Agreement and associated Key Performance thresholds. This negotiation required an interface to the level of company President with 47 internal stakeholders in 14 countries engaged under this agreement. An effective cost reduction of 34 % achieved year over year compared to budget.
