i've spent a long time around gravel production and the equipment that go along with it. I started on the mudstick and worked my way up. Changing bearings on conveyors, patching conveyor belts. Servicing the loaders and generators, etc.
I learned to weld in this environment as well. I'm ok at all positions with maybe some work needed for overhead welds. I have some experience with gouging or air arcing as well. From gouging out cracks to be filled in to cutting the wear kit out of the dump body of an ADT, for example.
I love to operate ADT and had spent a lot of time working on them as well at K&L.
I have a decent amount of time on wheel loader. Experienced with 980c, 972M, 966K. Joystick and quad controls friendly. I was responsible for feeding screeners/crushers and loading trucks while scaling product.
Limited experience on the excavator. I have a loose year's worth of loading trucks but nothing in the finishing dept. I enjoy the machine and hope to keep learning on it. I have serviced them and have changed many hoses on them.
I have experience with a few different portable screeners. Generally familiar with their normal operation, care and portability. I've serviced them. Changed hoses, changed bearings. I've swapped out head pulleys/tail pulleys. I have patched belts and have done a few whole sections for some belts in the past.
Before i worked at K&L, i was a contractor for 20 years for a sand and gravel company. This involved moving into pit/quarries and setting up crushing plants and processing rock. There i gained experience with two types of crushers, loaders and screening plants. At K&L, i filled more of a maintenance roll mostly. This included fabrication/welding, changed liners and plates for crushers, servicing equipment as well as some repairs and mechanic's assistant. I was also able to run loader which involved loading screeners, trucks, crushers. I operated ADT often, hauling both spoil and pit run. I am also 1st year experienced with excavator. I am experienced mostly with loading trucks, not so much finishing.
