  • Led the successful turnaround and delivery of multiple concurrent building automation projects—including a six‑building campus with multiple engineering plants—by restoring leadership alignment, stabilizing operations, and driving on‑time, on‑budget execution across hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities; reviewed technical documentation to establish accurate schedules, managed procurement and cost controls, coordinated subcontractors and internal teams, supported technician onboarding with complete project packages, tracked performance and change orders, and oversaw billing, commissioning, and close‑out documentation.
  • Building Automation, Maintenance Planning and +3 skills

Maintenance Manager

US Navy
Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan
12.2019 - 10.2022
  • Revitalized a poorly managed maintenance program by correcting longstanding deficiencies and delivering comprehensive training on corrective and preventive maintenance, work‑order processes, and parts-request procedures. Conducted routine inspections of work areas, tools, and equipment; provided targeted safety training; and implemented measures to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions and procedural violations. Spearheaded the transition of the maintenance program to a fully digital platform and completed the first crew certification in the new format for a Pacific Fleet Navy asset.
  • Oversaw all preventive and corrective maintenance during a $10.1M repair availability, completing the period $1.45M under budget with minimal growth work. Analyzed personnel performance, maintenance trends, and external repair metrics to generate data-driven reports for senior leadership. Achieved a 98% maintenance accomplishment rate across more than 90,000 maintenance actions.
  • Led a team of engineers in the operation of marine propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems in-port and underway, resulting in full certification of operations. Selected over more senior staff to serve as the asset’s senior advisor to the Commanding Officer, providing guidance on welfare, health, training, and utilization for 76 personnel. Advised senior management on disciplinary actions, promotions, and personnel development.
  • Skills: Process Improvement, Reliability Engineering, +1 skill

Recruit Division Commander

US Navy
Great Lakes, Illinois, United States
09.2016 - 12.2019
  • Onboarded 588 Navy accession candidates to include facilitating initial training on policies and programs, physical conditioning, and mental toughness while preparing them for follow-on training. Developed and headed an assessment program for basic firefighting skills, trained staff members, new assessors, and bridged the gap between dedicated firefighting instructors and recruit assessment standards.
  • Conducted evaluations with 46 staff members to determine if requisite knowledge of principles of curriculum development, instructional delivery, and presentation skills was achieved resulting in qualification of 21 staff members as master training specialists.
  • Facilitated training for 2400 students on workplace standards to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and assault through compassionate advocacy in order promote trust and respect.
  • Led fundraising efforts for a workplace associated non-profit organization which included initial training for 107 peers on procedures, service policies, and state regulations. Organized 23 volunteer events and 1608 hours of participation resulting in an 86% increase in annual budget.

Department Senior Enlisted Chief

US Navy
Sasebo, Japan
05.2013 - 08.2016
  • Oversaw daily operational performance of my departmental team of 28 members to meet operation goals, correct deficiencies, increase efficiency, and safely operate electrical, propulsion, and auxiliary equipment. Team was recognized by the Navy for three consecutive years as having the highest state of readiness. Routinely stepped in for the asset’s senior advisor to the Commanding Officer to assist in all matters pertaining to the welfare, health, utilization, and training of 76 team members.
  • Drafted and implemented a new firefighting instruction to realign the asset with Navy guidance, prepared and led 314 engineering and firefighting training events, and completed Navy certifications either on time or early. Upon completion, I was requested to lead another Navy asset through their certifications where success was duplicated.
  • In addition to normal responsibilities, I stepped in as the asset’s maintenance coordinator and managed the system without the aid of computer scheduling, rebuilding the program. As the liaison between the asset and the maintenance facility, I oversaw 3 separate maintenance periods including $700,000 in critical drive train repairs. Tracked and prioritized work orders to meet daily production requirements.

02.2010 - 04.2013
  • As the Navy's only qualified engineering assessor in the Pacific Northwest, provided 23 Navy and Coast Guard assets with training to accomplish objectives, achieve mission area certifications, and maintain readiness. Led 5 senior engineering training team members during 61 at-sea training events providing 8628 hours of training and guidance to 3350 sailors.
  • Upon completion of repair availabilities, responsible for assessing material condition of Naval assets, staff performance, and making recommendations to senior leadership on certifications.
  • While imbedded with USS Ingraham through the engineering operational certification, conducted more than 100 material inspections on electrical and auxiliary systems and diagnosed switchboard issues.
  • Intimately involved in the update and improvement of the Navy’s Surface Forces Training Manual which provides instructions for training, readiness, and operational certifications.
