I have been working with tools and learning the trades from a very young age, as my Dad was a master mechanic and tradesman... that's where it started. I had top marks in Metal work and Mechanics in high school and after graduating, went directly to P.V.I. and did 1 year of training for machining. After that I did engine machining for a year at Competition Development Engine rebuild. Then was offered a job as a mechanic at Corvette Specialties Performance shop that I was with for 5 years. I was then offered a job with Overlanders Manufacturing (Metal Fab Shop) that I was with for 31 years. There, I improved my skills and worked my way up to Maintenance/Millwright, keeping the machines and plant running for many years. In 2020 my wife and I wanted to move up to the Okanagan. We sold our home in Abbotsford and moved up to Vernon as I got work at DCL Aviation, doing full restoration on GSE, where I'm at currently. I believe strongly in working hard and taking on the challenges of machinery. When I repair, rebuild, or restore, I find it extremely rewarding.
Maintain all machines and equipment in 3 separate shops for CNC and manual. Organize all maintenance jobs including bringing in Techs and other trades for specialty work, and keep full records. Light duty manual machining and metal fab work for repairing shop equipment, prototyping, and projects of all kinds. Doing most of this in house is cost effective and easier to correct problems. Work side by side with engineers and operators to streamline and improve manufacturing, from jig work to full machine altering.
