• Teacher Candidate, Grade 3/4, Balaclava Elementary School, Hamilton, ON, 11/04/2019 - 12/12/2019 Bus duty - assisted students off the bus in the morning. Created and carried out a drama unit that was met with enthusiasm and excitement by the students. Directed play-based inquiry to achieve learning goals in science and mathematics. Assisted with class management while on a field trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens, Maintained healthy learning environment by connecting with the students.
• Teacher Candidate, Grade 8, Winona Elementary School, Hamilton, ON, 01/2019 - 02/2019 Created and taught Integers and Translations units for grade 8 mathematics using SmartNotebook technology. Successfully differentiated instruction for students on modified IEPs to meet their learning goals. Encouraged students to expand on their questions to explore more possibilities. Volunteered with a student on a modified below grade level IEP to assist her with money and time management. Attended grade 8 graduation at the school.
• Volunteer, Cathedral High School, Hamilton, ON, 11/2017 - 06/2018 Had the opportunity to work with English language learner (ELL) students from Columbia, Syria, Central Africa, etc. in English, Civics, and Geography classes. Made connections with the students through assistance with schoolwork. Assisted the teachers with photocopying, marking, and other clerical work.
