In my job as a Staff Assistant I helped facilitate the Red Team, which is a meeting that discusses all child abuse referrals that are made in Mendocino County, helping facilitate, taking minutes and distributing them to the team and those involved daily. I would attend and take minutes for the Reflecting Team, that includes Directors, Managers, Supervisors and staff and distribute these to everyone involved including the Executive Office. I worked with the Legal Clerk Unit copying reports as needed, dealing with mailing reports to clients, attorneys, and other agencies. I develop the court report for the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) data into the CWS/CMS system allowing the Legal Clerks to meet timelines for Court noticing involved tribes. I do the daily “Court Run” transporting Court reports and notices to the Court Clerks for filing and distribution. I also worked with Family Connections researching for family connected to detained children and creating a Family Finding Report for court. I organized and filed client data in case files to keep data up to date. Organize and maintain Excel spreadsheets for Family Finding reports, and ICWA ancestry work sheets to make sure all are submitted to the legal clerks timely. I also worked for the Foster Care Eligibility Unit. I input placement information into the CWS/CMS system and generate placement forms to allow the eligibility workers to pay foster parents /relatives and make sure placements are updated as needed. I also provided reception coverage for breaks and lunch as needed running a multi-line phone system directing calls and working with walk in traffic. I also worked in the Foster Care Nursing Unit making calls to Foster Parents, Foster Agency's, Doctor Office's and Relatives, of detained, children reminding them of important appointments. I also helped update patient charts so that the children can have the correct care.
