I have been working seasonally at MacArthur's Nurseries Garden Centre in Moncton since October 2020. During the first three years, my duties were related mainly to customer service, and also assisting the store manager with organizing warehouse inventory. I assisted customers with their purchases and helped answer their questions related to gardening. I enjoy interacting with the public and learning many new things related to gardening. I am fully bilingual which is an asset when working with the public or as part of a team. The store has frequent inventory turnover. My role was also to assist the store manager at warehouse receiving, organizing, pricing and stocking the store with new merchandise. I learned how critical it is for a company to have proper inventory control. Inventory must always be organized in order for the manager to do his or her work efficiently. In the spring and summer of 2024, my role expanded to include scheduling and managing a group of seven service employees. During the main season, I was responsible for scheduling and supervising the group. I shared my knowledge and experience with the group and showed them how the store worked and how important it is for them to do their jobs properly. The store must be kept clean, inventory organized and help customers with their purchases. My experience with managing the schedules made me realize how much I enjoy working with others and being a team leader.
