Registered Nurse with 10+ years experience in Emergency Nursing settings providing nursing care to diverse populations & ensuring high standards of culturally competent care for wide variety of patients with diverse needs from Neonatal to Geriatric patient that presents to the Emergency Department. Currently working as Oncology nurse for over 5 years in Allan Blair Cancer Center- Systemic Therapy area responsible for assessment and giving chemotherapy treatment to a diverse patient population. Efficiently coordinate with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care to oncology patient.
Using the nursing process and working within the guidelines of Home Care Services, with a focus on
outcomes for independence, the Registered Nurse:
Completes the initial assessment for Home Care clients requiring nursing service.
Develops and maintains nursing care plans based on nursing assessment, available data and
analysis and evaluation/review.
Performs clinical nursing skills in accordance with best practice guidelines and Home Care
and RQHR policies and procedures.
Provides health teaching for clients and their supports regarding illness and appropriate
intervention; and independence where appropriate.
Assists and involves clients and family members in planning client-centered care through
teaching, supporting and collaborating with other members of the interdisciplinary health care
team and community agencies; striving for client independence where appropriate.
Encourages health promotion and illness prevention practices.
Identifies when clients are in an emergency situation, provides interim emergency care and
assist clients to access emergency services when necessary.
Arranges for required equipment and supplies.
Maintains nursing documentation records according to accepted RQHR standards and policies.

Clinical Resource Nurse primarily involved in Educating, mentoring, and supporting Unit Staff. Promote patient Safety which includes but not limited to follow up with Occurrence report, educating, reviewing and demonstrating old and new equipment. Follow up with nurses regarding there recertification of Transfer of function (cardioversion, defibrillation and pacing), Intravenous Push medication every year, ER Protocols and standards to review every year. Promote educational opportunities to staff. Assist the educator with the June Education Days every year. Be of assistance to staff if there is any clarification with certain procedures and orders.
