- Cash Handling: Accurately receive and count cash and other forms of payment
- Provide correct change to customers and maintain a balanced cash drawer
- Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Assist customers with their purchases, answer questions, and provide product information
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Transaction Records: Maintain records of transactions and reconcile cash drawer at the end of the shift
- Ensure all transactions are accurately documented, including voids and refunds
- Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow cashiers and other store employees to ensure smooth operations
- Provide support in other areas of the store when necessary
- Cleanliness and Food Safety: Ensure that all surfaces, equipment, and tools in the food area are regularly sanitized and disinfected to meet health and safety standards
- Conduct routine cleaning and sanitization processes during operating hours to maintain a safe and appealing food environment
- Inventory Control: Assist in monitoring and maintaining proper inventory levels at the cash register
- Notify the management of low-stock items
- Hygiene and Food Handling Training: Stay up-to-date with food safety and hygiene training provided by the employer
- Ensure all employees working in the food area are following proper hygiene and sanitation practices
