During the Summer of 2021, I worked at our town's local aquarium, Ocean World. I worked as a merchandise stocker and a cashier briefly in the aquarium gift shop. During that short period of time, I learned how to work in customer service and gained experience in organization of inventory.
As a TRIO Mentor and tutor for College of the Redwoods, I would be available for students providing academic assistance with assignments and coursework. Additionally, I would help students by being an available space for them to come to with their needs and set up appointments with counselors and academic advisors if need be, also helping to build a bridge between student and instructor if any further academic assistance was needed.
During my time working at Sutter Coast Hospital, I have gained important skills such as working with numerous health insurance coverages making sure that patients are covered for the care they receive in our local Emergency Department, as well as operating our phones and Epic to be a connection for our physicians to outside facilities and other resources and for our nurses to provide the assistance they may need from other in-house departments. Lastly, in my time at Sutter Coast, my manager has used me on numerous occasions as a trainer for new hires in our department, showing them the ropes of patient registration and our job in the Admissions Department.
