Summary

I have been working with Telus for 18 years. In that time I have been a residential installation and repair technician. I spent 3 years in this role where I dealt with customers face to face. And developed technical abilities and communications skills

I spend 3 years working in the business sector of Telus where I programmed, installed and maintained privately owned phone systems. I worked with high end customers with service agreements and developed further communication skills in a business environment.

The last 12 year of my career have been spent in the Telus cable repair department. In this department I was responsible for small to large system and cable repairs. On these repairs I coordinated contracted skilled labour, permits, locates and was responsible for coordinating internal labour. I am regularly required to read prints and technical documents to ensure accuracy of the work being conducted and to ensure we meet all industry standards and safety codes. I also participated in the technical side and was responsible for completing the repairs myself. I worked in the city of Calgary for 5 of those years and have been working in Strathmore for the remaining 7. I work mostly rural areas and have a very strong understanding of rural road mapping. In the area I work I perform my role alone and work very well without supervision. Because of my constant interactions with customers over the past 18 years I have developed exceptional communication skills. I have been kept up to date with all required safety training and first aid.
