I'm looking to apply for the executive director, infrastructure & stability within the first nation; I am an extremely motivated individual with a invested heart for my community so having such a position and impact within the nation I believe would be beneficial to myself, coworkers, departments as well as the nation. I have a wide work experience from industry to office work, with a wide extend of experience within Moose Lake. I am experienced in performing semi-skilled and skilled construction tasks, hands on experience in conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance of equipment which I believe would be a asset in this position as I would help with public works, I believe this position would bring challenges and responsible I’ve been seeking for, I do believe that I will effectively utilize my training and experience, and this would be a great offer for opportunity for career growth that I’ve been searching for.

Lead Environmental Guardian

  • Spearheaded the successful development and management of the Environmental Guardian Program (EGP) in Fort McKay.
  • Gathered data through field work activities in Moose Lake and Namur Community such as air monitoring, soil sampling, water quality examination. Completed wildlife observation projects while also participating in various climate-related initiatives.
  • Developed FMFN drone program at the Sustainability Department, incorporating a mobile air monitoring unit and an infrared camera for versatile mapping and search and rescue applications.
  • Efficiently gathered and entered data
  • Trapper liaison position, coordinating meetings between Trap line holders and industry, hosted meetings, PAL safety courses and Alberta Trappers courses
  • Took initiative in organizing multiple workshops on related topics, fostering community engagement through group discussions and activities.
  • Guest speaker at many different function around the globe to showcase the work that the EGP has done with the the Traditional Territory of Fort McKay First Nation
  • Led the berry monitoring program, this involved taking community member out on the land to harvest berries. These berries would then be sent to a lab for analysis so the community can understand the health of the local berries.
  • Engaged in the National Boreal Caribou Knowledge Consortium's efforts for 3 years, contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing caribou and habitat health, as well as exploring various funding streams.
  • Served on the steering committee responsible for selecting Indigenous Community Based Monitoring programs eligible for funding from ECCC Environmental Climate Change Canada in 2020.
