• Work in Central Workshop as millwright/machinist: Rebuild/repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves and also machine various parts using lathes, milling machines, boring mill, vertical lathe, surface grinder & drill presses.
• Coaching/mentoring apprentices in safe working practices and quality workmanship

• Work on maintenance crew in Primary Extraction/OPP performing maintenance in safe/efficient manner. Tasks include : rebuilding pumps, spool replacement, rigging & lifting, general crusher/conveyor maintenance, replacement of pans on apron feeder, head pulley & take-up pulley change out, rollers, scrapers, multi-discs, head scrapers, weekly maintenance checks and other general duties.
• Lots of experience writing permits, using SAP, and lockout/tagout

• Worked in machine shop for 11 years and also helped out in maintenance department once I started my millwright apprenticeship
• Helped with bearing installation and general plant maintenance/machine repair
• Spent 5 years as machine shop supervisor overseeing a crew of 8+ people
• Machined various parts for mining industry while operating both cnc/manual lathes & milling machines, radial arm drill, surface grinder & boring mill. These include: eccentric shafts, cone shafts, head/tail pulley shafts & pulleys. Rollers & roller shafts and other conveyor belt components.
• Performed duties in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines to promote safe working environment
• Developed and maintained courteous working relationships
• Coaching/mentoring apprentices in safe working practices and quality workmanship

• Performed repairs, testing and building of air compressors
• General warehouse duties such as order picking and checking inventory
• Loading/unloading shipments with forklift
• Maintained clean and hazard free work environment

• After I finished school I worked here for a summer before moving to Calgary.

I machined various parts and once got to assist with line boring in the field.

• Kept work area neat and tidy to safeguard workspace and efficiently locate tools and other items.
