Driving long distances throughout Canada and the United States
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Load & unload deliveries through a variety of mechanisms & delivery assistance devices
Use technology to map routes, deliver/pickup/track shipments & communicate universally
Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road
Monitoring traffic and road conditions
Obeying road safety and transportation laws
Performing all customer tasks in a polite, resourceful and professional manner with professionalism and overall excellent customer service throughout the process
Able to drive in all weather conditions (Atlantic Canada Winters )
Document knowledge: -Driver logbook, inspection report, (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trip reports, accident or incident reports
Essential Skills: -Significant use of memory, critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, working with others, oral communication, writing, document use, reading text
Type of Travel: Long Haul, Regional, Provincial/territorial, Local, Short Haul Able to away from home for5-6 days
