
Information Systems Technician with 3+ years of experience supporting hardware, network, and telecommunications infrastructure in regulated, safety-focused environments. Proven ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair IT and network equipment, including LAN systems, copper and fibre cabling, and telecom hardware. Strong commitment to operational reliability, system availability, and health & safety compliance, aligned with Ontario Power Generation’s standards.
· Install, maintain, modify, and repair network, IT, and telecommunications equipment to support reliable system operations
· Provide technical and operational support for hardware and network infrastructure across assigned service areas
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and LAN network issues, including copper and fibre connections
· Perform diagnostics using multimeters, signal testers, computers, and mobile diagnostic tools
· Inspect, test, install, and maintain aerial and underground communication systems
· Conduct fibre and copper cable splicing, termination, and repair to restore service functionality
· Coordinate repair activities and escalate complex issues to ensure timely resolution
· Support system reliability through preventive maintenance and accurate service documentation
· Perform work at heights, including ladder and pole climbing, following strict safety protocols
· Adhere to all health, safety, and electrical standards, including WHMIS and safe work procedures
· Perform bleed-off testing on utility poles to verify electrical integrity and worker safety
· Collaborate with supervisors, dispatch, and technical teams to support daily operations.
