Duties entailed transferring the deceased from residences, hospitals, and various locations to the funeral home as well as sufficient preparation of the deceased in terms of embalming, cultural dressings, cosmetics, and more. This role included taking a lead stocking, ordering, and any administrative duties regarding back of house. I experienced extensive exposure to a wide array of cultures and religions in post-mortem care and in their funeral rituals. This job also involved the facilitation of intern training and back of house education.
This job developed from my role as an apprentice to becoming licensed and continuing my involvement within the company. The Job role focused upon embalming of the deceased, transferring deceased from place of death to their respective locations, and facilitating the shipping out of remains through proper embalming and the required international documentation.
This role involved the setup and organization of funerals dependant on their cultural and religious following. Taking direction from leaders in the team to ensure adequate satisfaction from family and grieving individuals. Developing the skills required to handle and maneuver families in sensitive situations.
