One of the most passionate, respected and distinguished broadcasters and guest speakers in North America, Rod Black has had a front row seat providing the soundtrack to some of the greatest moments in Canadian sports history.

The popular commentator with unmatched versatility has been there, done that and called that for over the last four decades and is a long way from dropping the mic.

Away from the spotlight, Black donates endless hours to many charitable causes lending his voice and support to Special Olympics, Sick Kids Hospital, Childrens Aid Foundation, Easter Seals, United Way, Right to Play, Pro Action Cops and Kids, Kids Help Phone, Canadian Cancer Society, CNIB, CAMH, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and many more.
An honorary spokesperson and ambassador for Plan Canada, Rod has received the Queen’s medallion and Diamond Jubilee medal for volunteerism.

  • Longtime NBA host and PXP announcer for Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzles broadcasts as well as NBA Finals, NBA AllStar Games, and NBA Draft. Co-hosted the NBA Expansion draft in 1995 on NBC with Bob Costas.
  • MLB PXP announcer for national TSN and Sportsnet broadcasts of the Toronto Blue Jays from 1998 to 2007 alongside Joe Carter and Pat Tabler.
  • Part time NHL PXP announcer for Montreal Canadiens broadcasts from 2010-2012 as well as several other NHL regular season and playoff games on TSN and NBC
