• Haul overburden soils in open pit mining development/operations. Experienced in delivering oil sands to an ore preparation plant at the dump hopper. Frequently loaded by electric shovels.
• Strong understanding of workplace risks, hazard assessments, and safety requirements. Always observed and remained aware of activity and conditions on the work site. Complied with all safe work practices, policies, and regulations. Reported any incidents, accidents, or near misses immediately.
• Always complete walk around; perform pre and post-safety and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Consistently and accurately maintain daily log book and other relevant documentation, i.e. Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s), safety and maintenance checks, production records, etc.
• Communicated and followed directions given by standard hand signals and/or two-way radio.
• Participated in daily toolbox meetings (PreTask Instruction).
• Stayed abreast of changes in industry standards and company policies.
• Teamwork; assisted other operators and laborers when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
