  • Conducted research to identify, collect, and present sacred long ago artafects from the Heritage Collections Department as well as contemporary pieces constructed by local Han artists, forming a deep understanding behind the process of consultation, protocol and respect towards exhibiting long ago Indigenous artefacts and modern sacred items
  • Ensured complete familiarisation with collected sacred items, their origins, and purpose, engaged with the public on a regular basis after the exhibit's grand opening, answering questions around the items and the history behind the exhibit
  • Organised and oversaw exhibit construction, exhibit write-up/posters/flyers, grand opening, installing (# pieces) along a 3 month timeline
  • Generated cost estimates for potential acquisitions, collected or printed of photos/flyers, grand opening expenses as well as information on additional proposals
  • Assisted in administrative tasks such as tracking visitor statistics, greeted and assisted with questions related to the exhibit and recorded feedback when necessary.

Accomplishments

Recently completed the Artist in Residency program with the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture partnered with the Danoja Zho Cultural Center in Dawson City, Yukon. This resulted in an Artist Talk, presented to the public, as well as an open exhibit with a creative film on my journey through performative fire arts.
