I gained experience and knowledge about the whole process of constructing a building. Was responsible for taking deliveries, sorting them, and then putting them in storage units. Learned how to operate a forklift and a small excavator and assisted a wide variety of very skilled tradespeople by doing skilled labor. Assisted in managing meetings and communicating with different crews on and off the site.

Cleaned 16 rooms a day and learned the process of deep cleaning houses/rooms. Covered front desk shifts a few times so I learned the process of checking guests in and out using a software called ‘Matrix’.

Did this job so I could save up money for my move to Canada.

Served food and drinks for ten hours every day under extreme heat while walking on the beach sand. Assisted the bartender when needed.

My first construction job. I mostly did cleaning and assisted skilled tradesmen. Learned how to use construction equipment and basic construction concepts.

Was mostly taking plates from the tables since 'Iberostar' is an all-inclusive hotel.

I worked part-time, mostly during live music shows.

Did mostly dish-washing and making coffee drinks. I learned about making cocktails and their ingredients.

I took this job as part of my J-1 Student Exchange Program, which I applied to during my first year of college. I perfected my English and learned how to efficiently clean rooms and houses. Everybody was getting paid according to how much they cleaned, so I would do approximately 13 hours of work for an 8-hour shift, 6 days a week.

My first job. I learned how to carry a tray, take orders, give recommendations, and work in a fast-paced environment in which I had to take care of guests' needs while communicating with other staff members.
