Accomplishments

  • Have completed and passed Alberta’s Pro Serve Course.
  • Maintained a 37% food cost of goods in 2004 for Brunswick Bramalea Lanes, which was the lowest in Ontario between the four bowling centres. Learned how to calculate cost of goods for all menu items and helped set pricing. Worked with food suppliers to order product that was good quality and low cost. Worked with staff to set portion standards, recorded recipes and posted them.
  • Organized MDA event in 2005 that helped raise over $500. Contacted Hooters Restaurants and secured volunteers for the event. Set the day, time, and secured limo for the girls. Worked with the General Manager on the posters and article in the Brampton Guardian. The event took over a month to plan and in one night raised 20% of all monies collect that year for the center.
  • Received a 100% on final test in a food handler's course. This course was 8 hours long and taught by Toronto Board of Health in 2002. Worked hard at being able to promote Brunswick programs in front of groups of 60 to 100 people. With practice and determination I was able to concur my fear and receive a great review from the Director of Operations.

Filled out and conducted yearly reviews as well as determined raises based on performance and productivity. Interviewed applicants following learned techniques to insure qualified employees. Had input in hiring, training and disciplining employees. Insured detailed instructions were left for banquets and special events.   • Customer Service, Followed health regulations as set out by Peel Health Dept, company policy and food handlers course to ensure consistency and quality of the food served. Created check lists for employees to follow. Ensured that food presentation and wait time were done in an acceptable manner. Created a fun environment for the league bowlers by striking up conversations and being proactive in their needs, (keep the coffee coming). Worked with companies to customize their events in terms of pricing, menu choices, serve times and special requests.
  • Cost Controls, Completed and analyzed weekly over/short reports, kept weekly waste sheets, ensured proper portioning and set pricing using cost of goods formula. Was responsible for coding and payment of bills in timely manner to insure accurate costs. Reviewed daily beer reports to track theft and insure the employee for that product-collected money. Responsible for insuring that all products were safely secure in locked fridges, coolers and cabinets.
  • Ordering and inventory control, recorded weekly stock inventory for food, beer, liquor and vending products into the AS 400 system.
