Work History

Manager, Tech Infrastructure Finance (Segment Advisory and Reporting)

Royal Bank of Canada
10.2022 - Current
  • Lead analyst for TI allocations driving annual plan, monthly forecast, and segment reporting.
  • Spearheaded the integration of Apptio to DCT (EPM) at Appcode level, establishing a unified, hierarchy-resilient source of truth for all allocation and NIE data.
  • Created robust models mapping NIE transits and cost towers to LOB-level service allocations, enabling detailed impact analysis.
  • Partnered with Service Owners and BAS to validate allocation accuracy and manage variances; previously owned volume, OPEX, and rate planning for 150+ services.
  • Developed reconciliation models across EPM, Apptio, and Posting Express, improving posting accuracy and auditability.
  • Designed tools for legacy vs. current year variance analysis, enabling faster root cause identification and enhancing commentary.
  • Conducts data analytics and financial analysis to make recommendations on potential true ups/rebates and/or in-year rate changes. The Rebate/True-Up model created has enhanced the overall process used to manage NIBT by aligning the Operating Expense (OPEX) for services to actual consumption, eliminating the one-month lag, creating 100% transparency into unallocated costs, and enabling automation opportunities through Apptio. This model is now the standard for the TI Allocations team.
  • Identified and addressed TI NIE fallout in the Apptio costing model (~$2MM/month) and, through consistent collaboration with TI and Towers, mapped most of the fallout to service offerings, reducing it to ~$300K/month. Identified major costing breaks in the Apptio costing model and helped uncover configuration issues.
  • Validates the monthly bill for accuracy and proposed enhancements to Apptio’s reporting interface—currently delivering the highest level of transparency to date.
  • Produce executive-level financial insights and support strategic decisions through ad hoc analytics and automation.

Royal Bank of Canada
02.2022 - 10.2022

  • Developed the tools and templates required to assist our business partners in understanding the new data sets for their charges as R11 and R12 configuration are not comparable.
  • Led Financial Year planning and all related quantitative and qualitative analytics for Allocations.
  • Automated of current processes, identified data requirements, key Data elements and data gaps and ensured data quality and integrity.
  • Conducted User Acceptance Testing of new/improved systems.
  • Created Apptio BoIT and Cost Transparency model Validation templates and processes to ensure the accuracy of Monthly Bill and Costing reports, which is a BAU process now and helped TI identify significant errors and reduced segment impacts.
